Access Policy
Untitled works to amplify and support underrepresented writers and artists. See below for our Access Policy. We hope to ensure that as many people as possible can take part in our activities and we actively encourage disabled writers to take part and work with us to ensure their needs are supported.
Access List
-
This is our mailing list to support those who identify as disabled
-
Those signed up to the list will receive plain text newsletters with information about our upcoming events and activities as well as enabling you to let us know what support you might need so we can endeavour to set this up for you
Online workshops, salons and events
-
Our online workshops and events will be auto-captioned as standard where live captioning cannot be provided
-
We will do best endeavours to provide BSL interpreters for our live events
-
Our online events will always have a relaxed atmosphere - you’re welcome to take breaks and turn off your camera/audio
-
Our online activities take place via Zoom. We will send the web link to participants 48 hours in advance. If you require additional assistance, email us at access.untitledwriting@gmail.com. Zoom accessibility information can be found here
Our projects and publications
-
We want to ensure that disabled writers are able to submit work for our publication, Untitled: Voices, as well as able to read previous issues
-
If you need to submit your work in an alternative format to that which we ask for as standard, please contact us at access.untitledwriting@gmail.com so we can help you to do so
-
Untitled: Voices is free to read via our website in a PDF viewer and as a downloadable PDF to be used on mobile devices - both formats are screen reader compatible
Website and social media
-
We will ensure that those who identity as disabled can fully access our website and social media by using alt-text and descriptions of images on our website and social media
-
We will always state what access provisions are available for all our events
If you need additional help booking onto one of our events, please contact us at access.untitledwriting@gmail.com.
We are aware that our Access Policy will not have covered all aspects of disability, nor do we believe to know about all writers' specific needs. We would like to continually evolve and grow, ensuring that we’re as accessible as possible to as many as possible. We actively encourage writers to feedback on how we can ensure that all will feel able to take part in our activities. We will regularly review our guidance to ensure we are responding to the needs of writers who work with us.
